Contract Opportunities

Building Programs and Capacity to Serve Community Through Dance
The Svitanok Society has two contract opportunities open for applications. To apply, please submit your resume, letter of interest and references to [email protected]. The deadline to submit for both contracts is September 24, 2024. Thank you to the Ottawa Community Foundation for its support of these initiatives.

1. Donor Program Research and Development

Part-Time Temporary Contract
Total Hours: 70 hours (14 hours per week) - proposal for alternate configuration of hours will be considered
Duration: 5 weeks - October 7 to November 9, 2024
Pay: $25/hour paid upon invoice submission and verification, Total - $1,750
 
Contract Purpose
The Svitanok Ukrainian Dance Society donor program requires renewal to build donor relationships and donor retention rates, enable recurring donations and create targeted giving opportunities.

Contract Summary: Description of Tasks
  • Undertake research on non-profit, charitable donor programs.
  • Review and assess the current Svitanok Society donor program.
  • Consult with experts/stakeholders to develop a renewed donor program that includes:
    • donor attraction, retention and recognition strategies and procedures
    • a menu of donor levels and benefits
    • a comprehensive donor database
    • opportunities for targeted giving that can help the Society remove barriers to service e.g. bursary fund to support newcomers and low-income families
  • Develop draft marketing materials for use in a renewed donor program launch.
 
Competencies, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Strong research, analysis and marketing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
  • Ability to effectively work independently and with a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative, requiring general direction only
  • English oral, reading and writing required
  • Experience in a non-profit, charitable environment considered an asset

2. Volunteer Program Research and Development

The development of a volunteer program for the Svitanok Ukrainian Dance Society is required, to ensure that volunteers are satisfied with their volunteer experience and to provide needed human resources for the Society.
 
Contract Summary: Description of Tasks
  • Undertake research on non-profit volunteer programs.
  • Review and assess current Svitanok Society volunteer contributions and systems.
  • Consult with experts and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive volunteer program that includes:
    • policy and procedures for recruitment, orientation, training, supervision and recognition
    • volunteer position descriptions, intake forms, and a volunteer handbook
    • a volunteer database
    • a volunteer management approach that enables diverse volunteer participation
  • Develop draft marketing materials for use in a new volunteer program launch.
