Announcing our year-end concert: BACK in our Valley/Повернення у звичне русло/De retour dans notre vallée! We're back for our first in-person year-end concert since 2019, and it's taking place in our home base, the Ottawa Valley.

This upcoming Saturday, April 1st, the Svitanok Ensemble and Podorozh! Adult Performing Group will be performing five dances at the City of Gatineau's closing event for their Action Week Against Racism. The performance will mark the Podorozh! Adult Performing Group's debut!
Location: Maison du Citoyen - 25 Laurier Street, Gatineau, QC Admission: Free and open to the public Performance time: ~2:10 p.m. For more information and to view the complete schedule, visit the Ville de Gatineau's website. Svitanok dancers will perform at the Capital Ukrainian Festival's "Festival of Carols" event on Saturday, January 14. Enjoy an evening of Ukrainian song and dance to celebrate the new year.
Come celebrate Ukrainian dance, music and culture! Join us on Sunday, December 11th in Jean Pigott Place (Ottawa City Hall) as OSUD students of all ages join Svitanok Ensemble dancers to present choreography from first term learning. Admission is free; donations are gratefully accepted. Seating is first-come, first-served.
See the Winter Celebration Facebook event for more details. The Svitanok Ensemble has a marathon performing weekend coming up on November 25, 26 and 27! We're performing at a different event each day and each event is raising money to support Ukraine or displaced Ukrainians.
Friday, November 25: Help Ukraine 2.0 gala in Merrickville, ON (fundraiser to support displaced people from Ukraine in Leeds and Grenville) Saturday, November 26: Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (UCSS) - Ottawa Branch's Вишиваний Вечір/Ukrainian Embroidery Cultural Event (fundraiser for the Armed Forces of Ukraine) Sunday, November 27: World Multicultural Festival at Lansdowne Park (donations made at the event will go to support displaced people from Ukraine in Ottawa) We hope to see you at one or more of these events! We have an opening on our OSUD teaching team!
The Ottawa School of Ukrainian Dance (OSUD) provides training in Ukrainian dance to students of all ages and levels. Classes follow a Ukrainian/character curriculum that encourages all students to work to their full potential. For this opportunity, Ukrainian dance training is required and teaching experience is preferred. However, applicants with a desire to begin instructor training will be considered. Send your resume to [email protected] or contact us for any questions. The Svitanok Ensemble is performing on the main Canada Day stage on July 1! We're on at 6:30 p.m. in LeBreton Flats Park.

The Ottawa School of Ukrainian Dance is offering in-person classes for all ages in fall 2021! We'll be re-opening safely and joyfully the week of September 19th.
Registration is now open and spaces are limited. We process registrations on a first-come, first-served basis until classes are full. COVID-19 protocols are in effect for all classes. We look forward to seeing you in the studio! |
